What is the shelf life of your products?
To use at the peak of freshness, our products should be used within 6 months after opening.
Are your products gluten free?
The most common culprit of gluten in body and hair care is hydrolyzed wheat protein, which we do not use. We do not use wheat-derived ingredients and feel quite safe in saying that our products are gluten free. However, if you have celiac disease we do advise caution with our products, or any other products, as there can always be a slight risk in cross contamination. We do our very best in quality control to ensure this does not happen, but we always advise caution. I cannot pump lotion / soap from the bottle, I believe the pump is faulty.
Of course if your pump is faulty we will replace it for you immediately. Sometimes shipping and/or varying weather conditions can cause issues that could cause you to have trouble when trying to open the pump. And occasionally, it is simply a faulty pump. Contact us (830-868-7862) if you are having any trouble - here is something we would like you to please try first:
Be sure the collar around the pump is twisted tightly closed around the opening of the bottle. The collar can get loose during shipping, and when it is loose, the pump will not pop up in order to dispense product. Turn the pump counterclockwise to open while holding your thumb under the pump pushing upwards.
Do you have a storefront at the farm?
We do not have a storefront. If you are looking for where to buy our products, please go to the homepage and scroll to the bottom until you find 'Where To Buy'. You will find a list of stores that carry our products.
Right down the road from our farm entrance, you will find William-Chris Vineyards (approximately 8/10ths of a mile east of us). They are our downtown Hye TX "anchor store" and carry our full line of products.
Is your farm open for tours or visitors?
The farm is currently not open to the public. We do offer 'will call' for wholesale orders.
Phthalates in Products
Q: What are phthalates?
A: Phthalates are a group of chemicals often used to make plastics flexible and to help fragrances last longer in personal care and household products.
Q: Why do some products contain phthalates?
A: In beauty and home goods, phthalates are commonly added to stabilize synthetic fragrances or extend their scent. They can also be found in plastics, packaging, and adhesives.
Q: Are phthalates harmful?
A: Research has raised concerns that certain phthalates may act as endocrine disruptors, which means they can interfere with hormones in the body. Some people also experience skin sensitivity when exposed.
Q: What does “phthalate-free” mean?
A: “Phthalate-free” means the product is made without these chemicals. All our formulas are created with no phthalates, making them safer for you and your family.
Q: Why should I choose phthalate-free products?
A: Choosing phthalate-free products helps reduce your exposure to potentially harmful chemicals. It’s especially important for people with sensitive skin, families with children, or those aiming for a clean, natural lifestyle.
Q: Do phthalate-free products still smell good?
A: Yes! We use essential oils and naturally fragrant plant ingredients instead of phthalates. You’ll still enjoy a pleasant scent without the need for artificial boosters.
Fragrance-Free Products
Q: What does “no artificial fragrance” mean?
A: “No artificial fragrance” means our products are made without lab-created perfumes or additives. Instead, we rely on natural botanicals and essential oils for a light, clean scent.
Q: Are artificial and synthetic fragrances the same?
A: Many people use “artificial” and “synthetic” interchangeably, but both refer to man-made fragrance ingredients. Our promise is that our products contain no artificial fragrance and no synthetic fragrance—ever.
Q: Why avoid synthetic fragrances?
A: Synthetic fragrances can trigger allergies, irritation, or headaches for sensitive individuals. By keeping our products free from synthetic fragrance, we help ensure they’re gentler on your skin and overall wellbeing.
Q: How do your products smell if they don’t use artificial fragrances?
A: While our Pure Aloe No. 202 products are completely fragrance-free, others are lightly scented using only natural essential oils and fragrant plant ingredients. That means you’ll enjoy a subtle, authentic aroma without the harshness of artificial or synthetic perfumes.
Q: Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
A: Yes. Because we use no artificial fragrance or synthetic fragrance, our formulas are ideal for those with fragrance sensitivities, eczema, or skin conditions aggravated by artificial perfumes.
Q: How do I know if a product contains artificial or synthetic fragrance?
A: Always check the ingredient label. If you see “fragrance,” “parfum,” or “aroma” listed without further detail, it usually means the product contains an artificial or synthetic fragrance blend. In many countries, brands are not required to disclose the specific chemicals used in these blends, which can sometimes include phthalates or other additives.
To avoid hidden chemicals, look for products that are clearly labeled “fragrance-free,” “unscented,” or “no artificial/synthetic fragrance.” Some brands also list natural essential oils or plant extracts instead of vague “fragrance” terms, giving you full transparency about what’s inside.
